Adelaide youngster Josh Worrell will make his AFL debut against St Kilda this weekend.

Labelled one of the most versatile in the 2019 AFL Draft, Worrell was selected by the Crows at pick No.28.

The tall defender will join the Crows side as it takes on the Saints in Cairns.

Adelaide Senior Coach Matthew Nicks said Worrell's form had been exciting in recent weeks.

"He was in some really good form about three weeks ago, but we made the choice to stick with the team we had in," Nicks said.

"He's been doing some really hard work down back under pressure in the SANFL, 50 or 60 inside 50s - so we think he's ready, we think it's time.

"He plays not so much key back - he's different to (Jordon) Butts - but more than second or third tall.

"With the flexibility he brings he'll play well in those different match-ups."

First bounce is 6.55pm ACST (7.25pm AEST) on Saturday, June 12.
